At Cornell
As a junior, Lesser appeared in the final 1:09 of the Big Red's 4-1 win over IUPUI at the University of Kentucky Nike Soccer Classic. He made one save on the only shot he faced in the contest. Lesser appeared in a pair of games early in his sophomore season, making a pair of saves in the tie against Hartford on Sept. 3. He also went the distance in Cornell’s third game of the season, allowing three goals in a loss at Vermont. As a freshman, he played every minute in goal for the Big Red, posting a 3-10-2 mark. Lesser played nearly 1,400 mintues during his first season and posted a shutout at Hartford.

At Cactus Shadows
Lesser played one year of soccer for his high school team, earning first-team All-Northeast Valley and all-region honors while captaining it to an undefeated season. The Cactus Shadows team picked up the regional championship that year and Lesser was also named second-team all-state. His club team, Sereno ‘87, was the 2005 Arizona state champion. He also won two letters playing second base, shortstop and center field for the baseball team and one letter playing guard on the basketball team.

Personal
Steven Joseph Lesser is the son of Peter and Linda Lesser and has a younger sister. He is a student in the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell. His grandmother is a Cornell graduate.
