At Cornell
Brownstein, an athletic player with explosive power, saw action in all 17 games last season, making 14 starts. She helped a Cornell defense that allowed opponents less than 11 shots per game and ranked third in the Ivy League with four shutouts. Brownstein also registered her first collegiate point when she set up the game-winning goal in overtime against Columbia. A three-time member of the NFHCA Academic Squad, Brownstein was the recipient of the Sportsmanship, Leadership and Determination Award following her junior season. During her three seasons with the Big Red she has improved her ability to read the game and is making good decisions with and without the ball. As a sophomore, Brownstein saw action in 14 games, making 10 starts in the Big Red backfield. She registered one defensive save on the season. Brownstein played in 11 games as a freshman, making four starts.

At The Columbus Academy
A three-time all-league selection, Brownstein served as a captain in 2004 and earned team MVP honors after leading her squad to its third state title in four years. Brownstein and her team captured four consecutive league and district championships and finished second in the state in 2002. She was a four-year Futures participant in the Great Lakes region and competed at the 2003 National Festival.

Personal
Stephanie Leslie Brownstein is the daughter of Stewart and Cynthia Brownstein. Her father played baseball at Ohio State. She is enrolled in Cornell’s College of Engineering.
