2008 Women's Cross Country Roster
Biography
At Cornell: The cross country captain in 2008 for the second straight year, Emig will also serve as one of the team’s co-captains during the track season. She has had a tremendous first three years at Cornell, contributing significantly in all three seasons. As a junior, Emig was the runner-up in the 3000m at the Penn Relays and placed a very important third in the 3000m at the outdoor Heps to help cap the Big Red’s come-from-behind team victory. A consistent top-five finisher for the Big Red cross country team throughout her career, she has been a member of two ECAC cross country championships. Twice a finalist in the outdoor Heps 1500m and an ECAC finalist in the indoor mile in 2008, Emig anchored the 4x800m to second at the indoor ECACs in 2007 and has twice earned All-East accolades. She is a part of two freshmen records in the indoor distance medley relay and the 4xMile and held the school 1500m and mile records before Kim Standridge ’11 dipped under them in 2008. An ECAC qualifier in the 1500 and mile, she has competed at the NCAA Regional Championships and in the United Kingdom during Cornell’s 2006 summer trip.
At Albuquerque Academy: Emig lead Albuquerque Academy to the team championship her senior year, winning three events (1600, 3200, and anchor of the sprint medley relay). She was also the state runner-up in cross country as a senior.
