Biography

At Cornell
2007-08: In his second season with Cornell, Alves wrestled at the Brute Binghamton Open, Body Bar Invitational and Nittany Lion Open at 149 pounds.

2006-07: Alves represented the Big Red at the UB Open and New York State Championships his rookie campaign. Going 3-2, he took fifth place at the New York State Championships at 149 pounds, where he won twice by major decision and once by fall.  Alves also wrestled in two dual matches for Cornell.

Prior to Cornell: As a four-time California state qualifier, Alves lettered in wrestling four times. With a career record of 160-14, he was a two-time state place winner. Alves was on the honor year all four years of high school. He served as his junior class treasurer and was vice president of his senior class.

Personal: Brian A. Alves is the son of John and Susan Alves. He has one brother. Alves is majoring in computer science and attends Cornell's School of Arts and Sciences.
