At Cornell
2007-08: In his season second with the Big Red, Hovis picked up four wins. He went 3-2 at the Southern Scuffle to open the season. Hovis wrestled for Cornell at the National Duals, and in matches against Penn State, Wagner and Bucknell.

2006-07: In his first season with the Big Red, Hovis was a mainstay in the lineup at 157 pounds. He wrestled for Cornell at the Body Bar Invitational, Las Vegas Invitational and EIWA championships. Hovis went 5-7 in dual competition where he picked up bonus points for Cornell in three matches.

Prior to Cornell: Hovis was a four-year starter in wrestling at Whitfield School at 125, 135, 160 and 171 pounds. He is a four-time Missouri state place winner and a three-time state champion. Hovis was named the Missouri Wrestling Association Wrestler of the Year.

Personal: Drake Alexander Hovis is the son of George and Lori Hovis. He is studying Applied Economics and Management in Cornell's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
