At Cornell
2007-08: At 141 pounds, McGill recorded five wins for Cornell during his rookie season. He wrestled for the Big Red at the Brute Binghamton Open, Body Bar Invitational and Southern Scuffle. McGill also wrestled in six duals for Cornell.  

Prior to Cornell
McGill was a two-time state champion from Munster HS, winning at 125 pounds in 2006 and taking the title at 140 pounds in 2007. He was named first-team academic all-state in 2007. In 2003, he was the state runner-up at 103 pounds. McGill was a cadet freestyle All-American in 2005 at 119 pounds. A four-year high honor roll member, he was a four-year recipient of the scholar athlete award.  

Personal
Eric Donald McGill is the son of Gary and Sherry McGill, and he has a younger sister. McGill is enrolled in the College of Engineering.
