Biography

At Cornell
Junior (2008): Risica appeared in 25 games for the Big Red, starting 17 and playing primarily in left field. She would make the most of her opportunities, driving in two runs with a two out triple in the bottom of the seventh against Manhattan that forced extra innings, and allowed Cornell to rally to a 5-3 victory. In a 7-4 win over Binghamton on April 30, Risica scored the winning run on Elise Menaker’s single and put the game out of reach when she homered to lead off the seventh.

Sophomore (2007): Risica played in all 49 of the Big Red’s games as a sophomore. She totaled four home runs, including a grand slam in Cornell’s 13-3 win over Yale on March 31. Risica helped the Big Red to sweep the Bulldogs by also notching a triple in Cornell’s 2-1 victory to open the day. She was second on the team registering 10 doubles. Risica was a mainstay in the outfield for the Big Red where she made 29 putouts with a perfect fielding percentage.

Freshman (2006): Starting in 54 games for the Big Red, Risica ended the season leading the team in homeruns with eight and with 30 RBI. She was fourth on the team with a batting average of .293. Recording six multi-RBI games, she recorded four against George Mason on March 5. Risica finished the season with nine doubles and 23 runs. She was four for five in stolen bases.

At Franklin
Risica helped Franklin HS to the Hockomock league championsip as a freshman in 2002 and again in 2005. She was a four-time letter winner and four-year starter. She was named a Metrowest Daily News All-Star following her sophomore and senior years and was also a Hockomock league all-star the same seasons. As a senior, Risica won the Hockomock league title with Franklin, was named the league MVP and was a Boston Globe all-scholastic pick. She was also a two-time letter winner for Franklin's volleyball team, which won the Hockomock league championship in 2002, and was a two-time letter winner on Franklin's basketball team.
