Biography
At Cornell:
In her first two years at Cornell, Royal holds one Ivy League meet record and has been named All-Ivy twice, while garnering three All-East honors including one ECAC championship. Indoors, she set a personal best 400m meters of 56.68, placing fifth at the Heptagonals, the eighth-best mark all-time at Cornell. She qualified for the ECAC meet in both the 400m and the 4x400 relay. Outdoors, Royal continued her stellar running, helping the team capture the Penn Relays 4x400 championship and her second Heptagonal relay blue ribbon. She has twice qualified for the NCAA regionals and should again be among the elite 400m runners on the East Coast. At Maple Heights: An Ohio state champion in the 400m at Maple Heights HS, Royal has a career-best time of 55.88. She won the Midwest Meet of Champions, defeating high school runners from Illinois, Indiana and Michigan. She also performed well in the 200m with a personal best of 25.12.
