Harvey played three years for the Baltimore Polo Club at the No. 2 position. He was a member of the National Honor Society at the Boys Latin School of Maryland.

Robert Dixon Harvey is the son of Dixon and Janet Harvey. He is studying landscape architecture in Cornell's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. He has one sister.
