Senior Season - 2010
Merriman saw the most extensive action of his career in his final season, playing in 14 games and earning the start in seven of those. Merriman made his first start of the year on Sept. 16 against Saint Joseph's, and started Ivy League games against Brown, Dartmouth and Columbia to round out the season.

Junior Season - 2009
Merriman saw time in four matches during his junior season, opening up in the season's second match against Hartwick. In that contest, he picked up his first career point when he earned an assist on the match's only goal, helping the Big Red to its first victory of the year. He found himself in the starting lineup four days later against Canisius, helping the Big Red to a scoreless draw with the Griffins. Merriman also made reserve appearances in the win against St. Bonaventure and the loss to Yale.

Sophomore Season - 2008
Merriman made his collegiate debut in the starting lineup in the season finale against Columbia on Nov. 15.

Freshman Season - 2007
Merriman did not appear in any games for the Big Red.

At Waubonsie Valley HS
Merriman played his club soccer with the Chicago Magic, helping the side to a second-place finish at Nationals in 2004 and a pair of U.S. Club National Championships. At Waubonsie Valley, he was the team captain and most valuable player, leading the team to a conference championship in 2006. He was named all-conference and academic all-conference, while also winning the team’s sportsmanship award.  

Personal
Shane Michael Merriman is the son of John and Susan Merriman, and he has an older sister. He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
