At Cornell
Junior (2009)
Schmidt saw a significant increase in playing time during his junior season, playing in all seven games. He finished the year with 15 tackles, including four for a loss of 22 yards, to go along with two sacks.

Sophomore (2008)
As a sophomore, Schmidt played in just one game, registering two tackle and a half-sack vs. Mansfield.

Freshman (2007)
Schmidt played in three games during his rookie campaign, registering four tackles on the year.

At Ketcham
A three-year member of the football team at  Roy C. Ketcham HS, Schmidt saw time at the safety, wide receiver and cornerback positions.  He also ran track for one year.
