At Cornell
Junior (2009): Pines played in 26 total games with 10 starts and batted .167 with a double and three RBI. She was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI against Penn and was 1-for-1 and was hit by a pitch at Syracuse. Pines started six games during the team's trip South, starting at both second base and in the outfield. She committed just two errorrs in 28 chances for a .929 fielding percentage.
Sophomore (2008): Pines saw action at both second base and outfield for the Big Red during her sophomore season, appearing in 12 games and starting six. Against Iona in the Rebel Spring Games, she drove in two runs in Cornell’s decisive 19-0 victory, and scored the winning run on April 19 against Syracuse in the 5-3 victory. Pines ended the season on a high note, going three-for-three with a walk, a run and three RBI in the Big Red’s final outing, a 12-4 victory against Binghamton on April 30.
Freshman (2007): Pines played in 12 games before suffering a season-ending injury. She tallied two RBI in the Big Red’s win over Delaware on March 9, and hit a double against George Mason on March 4. Pines also pitched for Cornell last season against Niagara and Stetson.
At Higley HS
Pines was a four-year letter winner in softball and volleyball. A two-time member of the all-region team in softball, she was named rookie of the year and the team MVP her senior season. Pines' volleyball team won the state championship in 2004. She was her class' salutatorian and was a member of the National Honor Society.
Personal
Elizabeth Marie Pines is the daughter of Aaron and Rhonda Pines and has a younger sister and two younger brothers. Majoring in human development, she is enrolled in Cornell's College of Human Ecology.
