Biography
At Cornell:
Chris Sachvie continues to be an invaluable player for the Big Red, serving as a co-captain and playing consistently in the No. 1 position. Both a two-time All-Ivy and second-team All-America performer, he has also twice been voted by his teammates as their MVP. Holding back voracious opponents, Sachvie contributed a win in the Big Red's first victory against a perennialy difficult Harvard team last February. He finished the 2008-09 season ranked No. 19 nationally. Sachvie also served as a member of the winning Ontario team at the Canadian Winter Games in 2007-08.
Prior to Cornell:
Sachvie was a top Canadian junior player and was a member of the Canadian junior squad, and in 2005, he was named the U.S. Junior Open champion. A graduate of St. Francis SS where he captained his squash team, Sachvie also played basketball and tennis.
Personal:
Christopher N. Sachvie is the son of Mark and Cindy Sachvie, and he has a younger brother and sister. His sister, Lauren, is a member of Cornell's women’s squash team. Sachvie is enrolled in Cornell's College of Arts and Sciences and is majoring in sociology.
