Biography
At Cornell:
Opening at the No. 4 position last year, Liza Stokes accomplished a shut-out match against her opponent from Franklin & Marshall. Her continued strength in the No. 4 position helped lead Cornell to its winning season, and her hard work paid off at the end of the season when her teammates named her the team's most improved player. A third-year captain, she brings excellent leadership to the squad as well as being a great role model.
Prior to Cornell:
Stokes played on the Agnes Irwin School’s squash team for all four years where she was coached by Scott Devoy, the nephew of Cornell coaches Julee and Mark Devoy. She also played tennis and lacrosse Agnes Irwin School.
Personal:
Elizabeth E. Stokes is the daughter of David and Lisa Stokes. She has two brothers. Her brother, Ben, graduated from Cornell in 2006. Majoring in communications, Stokes is enrolled in Cornell's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
