2013-14 Men's Squash Roster
Biography
2013-14Jalan was one of just four members of the squad to compete in all 17 matches. His 11 victories were tied for second on the team with fellow middle-of-the-order regulars Bryan Keating '14 and Gustav Runersrjö '16. Jalan was particularly strong in Ivy League matches, going 5-2 with four three-game victories. He started the season on a five-match winning streak, then won five in a row again late in the season. The end of that string came in the first round of the Potter Cup, when he defeated Trinity's Moustafa Hamada in five games to account for one of Cornell's three points. Amazingly, Jalan's other two matches in the Potter Cup also went to five games. He seemingly carried that momentum into CSA Individuals Championships two weeks later, winning the Molloy Division -- which features competitors ranked No. 33 to No. 80 in the nation by the CSA. Jalan entered the weekend ranked 57th before rattling off six consecutive victories to boost him to a year-end ranking of 49th.
2012-13Jalan did not appear in any matches.
2011-12Jalan was an impressive 12-2 from the lower spots in the order, winning his first 12 matches of the season. The last match in that stretch was a four-game victory over Yale's Joseph Roberts on Feb. 17 to help the Big Red win its first Potter Cup quarterfinal in program history.
At CornellJalan played consistently in the middle of the order during his freshman and sophomore seasons, finishing last season with a 11-5 record.
