Before Cornell
Giurastante was the state champion in the 400m hurdles in 2009 after finishing as the runner-up as a junior. She was all-conference in that event and served as team captain for both the track and field and cross country squads.

Mari Elaini Giurastante is the daughter of Joseph and Assunta Ranucci. She is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
