As a Senior (2011-12)
Belden ended his Cornell career with great performances all season. At the Indoor Heps, Belden was third in the shot put with a throw of 57' 3/4", and he was second in the weight throw later in the competition with a hurl of 59' 2 1/4". He also scored points for the Big Red in the shot put at the Indoor IC4As, reaching more than 54 feet. At the Penn Relays, Belden competed well in the college discus, throwing it 153' 1" to take 23rd. At Outdoor Heps, he took eighth and ninth place in the shot put and discus, respectively. He was even better at the Outdoor IC4As, taking fifth place in the shot put to score four points for Cornell. Thanks to his great efforts all season, Belden earned a spot in the NCAA East Regional in both the shot put and discus. He ended his terrific Big Red career with a 30th-place performance in the shot and a 34th-place performance in the discus. His throw of 170' 10" in the discus is seventh in Cornell history at the end of the 2012 season.

At Cornell
Belden was elected captain by his teammates for the 2011-2012 season. He is a three-time Academic All-America selection by the USTFCCCA, a 10-time HEPS scorer, a four-time regional qualifier, a four-time All-East selection, a 12-time IC4A qualifier, the 2010 Heps runner-up in shot put, and the 2010 IC4A runner-up in discus. He is currently #2 all time in the indoor shot (57'8"), #3 all time in the outdoor shot (58'10.75"), #7 all time in the discus (169'1"), and #10 all time in the indoor weight throw (60'10.5"). Belden will look to lead the team to its ninth team championship in the decade.

Before Cornell
Bob was the Indiana State discus champion with a best of 195’4 and had a shot best of 58’6. Belden also won the Midwest Meet of Champions in 08’ and placed third at the Nike Outdoor Nationals in the discus.  He was ranked 15th in the country coming out of high school in the discus.
