At Cornell
After performing well during his freshman year where he placed in the 400m at the Outdoor Heps, moved to third all-time indoors with his 48.13 and posted a 46.8 split on the Penn Relays Championship squad that qualified for the NCAA Regionals, Boyd entered the sophomore year in excellent pre-season condition. A Heps champion in the 4x400 as a freshman and member of the fourth-best all-time indoor 4x400, as a sophomore he had highs and lows when trying to compete due to a foot injury. During the indoor season, his best was only 22.33 in the 200m and he ran 48.94 in the 400m. While Boyd continued to train, his outdoor season was totally derailed and he was unable to compete at all. He is hoping to rebound during his junior year to perform well enough to compete both regionally and nationally as part of the star-studded 4x400m team.
Before Cornell
Boyd was an OFSAA finalist and scorer in the 400m with a top time of 48.73.
Personal
Cody William Boyd is the son of Craig and Lori Boyd, and he has a younger sister. He is enrolled in the College of Engineering.
