Biography
At Cornell
Dannemiller arrived on campus as a freshman with the fastest high school 3,200m time of any recruit in Cornell history and, having also displayed great ability over longer distances with a 1:08:21 for the half marathon, was under the gun to contribute immediately at the 8k cross-country distance. The talented rookie didn’t disappoint, as he planted himself in the team’s top four from the get-go and remained a reliable scoring presence throughout the season. Employing a hammering running style, Dannemiller recorded fine 8k times of 25:04 at Notre Dame and 24:50 at Pre-NCAAs, then came through again at Heps, where he once again finished fourth for Cornell in 22nd place overall as the second freshman in the league. A bout of mononucleosis in November, coupled with a double-sprained ankle in January, curtailed Dannemiller’s indoor season and limited his outdoor competition to a couple of unattached appearances, but he returns for the 2008 cross-country season in full health and more is expected from the talented and gritty workhorse in upcoming seasons.
At Martinsville
Dannemiller posted a stellar time of 9:05.91 for 3,200m as a senior and ran an impressive 1:08:21 half marathon as a junior, only 14 seconds shy of the national age group record for the distance. He was a two-time all-state honoree and finished second at the Midwest All-Star meet in the 3200m.
Personal
Adrien Thomas Dannemiller is the son of Greg and Sheila Dannemiller and has one sister and three brothers, including one brother, Brooke, who ran for the Big Red. He is enrolled in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
