At Cornell
Ryan came to Cornell as an un-recruited potential decathlete and is in the process of making himself one of the more competitive members of the team. He’s learning to vault and throw the shot, discus and javelin and all the hard work is starting to pay off. He’s now spanned 22’7 in the long jump and is slowly moving up the all time list to #7 at 4609. He got the opportunity to run at the indoor HEPS in the Heptathlon and made the most of it by picking up a 6th place and valuable points for the team. His goals this year are to qualify for the IC4A’s indoor and out and score again at the HEPS.

Before Cornell
Ryan holds the school record in the 4x100m relay and was a part of eight conference championship teams (four indoor, four outdoor). He also took third place in the decathlon in high school as a senior. Ryan also played four years of football, winning three league championships.

Personal
Christopher James Ryan is the son of Ralph and Deborah Ryan and has a brother and a younger sister. He is enrolled in the College of Architecture, Art and Planning.
