Biography

At Cornell
Since Chris showed signs of being a more successful long sprinter he moved away from the short sprints that he did as a freshman. Although Chris had a difficult time transitioning to long sprints, he worked very hard and showed dramatic improvement throughout his sophomore season. Tait has been a member of the Cornell track team since his freshman year but was not part of the travel team until late last year as a long sprinter and made the HEPS team for the first time in 2009. Another young sprinter who seized the opportunity, Tait ran himself onto the 4x100 team at HEPS where Cornell finished 2nd with Chris manning the 3rd leg. His strong turn running ability also got him a spot in the 200 where he narrowly missed the final. During the last 3 weeks of the season He had several 48 low splits on the 4x400m relay team and ran a solid leg on the depleted relay squad the scored at the IC4A’s and thus also earned his first All-East recognition. Coaches anticipate a phenomenal year for Chris. We expect that he will be one to look out for in both Indoor and Outdoor seasons.

Before Cornell
Tait was an OFSAA finalist in both the 200m and 400m and was named team most valuable performer for three seasons. He also served as team captain. Tait also ran cross country for two seasons and played basketball for one.

Personal
Christopher Alexander Tait is the son of Jean Tait and has three older brothers. He is enrolled in the College of Human Ecology.
