As a Junior (2011-12)
Kelly cut 18 seconds off his personal best at the Indoor IC4As in the 5K, running 14:17.05 to place ninth in the preliminary race and just miss the finals. That time is also the fourth-best in school history. Outdoors at the Heps, he took 16th place in the 5K and ninth place in the 10K. His best 10K time outdoors of 29:24.58 is now the sixth-best time ever at Cornell.

As a Sophomore (2010-11)
Kelly again consistently placed in the top seven in cross country. In outdoor track, he improved his personal best in the 5,000m by running 14:35 while qualifying for the IC4A meet in both the 5,000m and 10,000m.

As a Freshman (2009-10)
Kelly made an impact in cross country by finishing in the top five twice, once at Lehigh’s Paul Short Invitational and again at the Penn State Invitational. In Outdoor track, Kelly qualified for NCAA East Regional meet after running a time of 30:06 for 10,000m. He also earned Academic All-American honors with that performance.

Before Cornell
Kelly ran track and field and cross country for four seasons, earning four letters in each sport. He also played a year of basketball.

Personal
Brett Kelly is the son of Tom Kelly and Sue Babcock and has a younger sister. He is enrolled in the College of Engineering.
