Rung will serve as team captain for the 2009-10 season.
At St. Joseph’s Collegiate HS
Rung rowed for four years at St. Joseph’s Collegiate high school, serving as team captain as a senior. That same season, he was named his team’s MVP and earned the team’s Best Lightwright Erg award. During his career, he won two silver and two bronze medals at the New York State championships. He also won two bronze medals at the Canadian Nationals and took gold in the senior-8 boat at the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta. Rung also played hockey for five years at St. Joseph’s.
