Junior Season - 2011
Barger emerged as one of the team's first options off the bench at outside defender, appearing in 11 games with four starts to earn her first varsity letter. She appeared in five of the Big Red's seven Ivy League games.

Sophomore Season - 2010
Barger made six appearances on defense for the Big Red, including four starts, with three of those coming in Ivy League play. She made her first career star on Oct. 3 at Colgate, then started each of the next three league games. Barger was a part of the Big Red defensive unit that allowed nine fewer goals in 2010 than in 2009.

Freshman Season - 2009
Barger appeared in one game for the Big Red during her freshman season, coming off the bench during the Big Red's 4-1 loss at Lehigh on Sept. 11.

Before Cornell
Barger was named an all-area selection by ESPN RISE after earning all-state and all-conference honors as a senior. She was a two-time team captain, the first junior captain ever at Edina HS, and was a two-time team MVP. Barger helped her team to three appearances in the state tournament, including a second-place showing in 2007 and a third-place finish in 2005, along with three section and conference championships. She also played rugby and ran track and field and was named to the Minnesota All-State Academic team.

Personal
Alexandra Nicole Barger is the daughter of Stephen and Lynda Barger and has two younger sisters. She is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
