Biography

Senior Season - 2012
Chitanvis earned All-Ivy League Second Team honors after finishing the season tied for the scoring lead with classmate Xandra Hompe. Chitanvis had a team-high four goals to go along with two assists while also serving as one of the team's tri-captains. Her 16 career goals ranks tied for 10th in program history.

Junior Season - 2011
Chitanvis was the team's leading scorer for the second straight year, despite often drawing double-teams from the opposition's defense. For her efforts, she was also given All-Ivy League Honorable Mention for the second consecutive season. She had five goals and two assists for 12 points on 26 shots, which all tie career-highs. Chitanvis was one of just three players on the team to start all 16 games and the only non-senior to start each game on the pitch. Her season started off with a memorable game Sept. 2 at Fordham, when she scored a goal just 16 seconds into the game before adding a second goal in the 30th minute off a rebound of an Annmarie Irwin shot. Chitanvis then assisted on Brook Chang's goal in the second half. Her last three goals of the season came in a four-game stretch, including the winner in a 2-0 victory over Niagara on Sept. 25. Chitanvis had two goals in Ivy League play for the second straight year, scoring the Big Red's lone goal in a 3-1 loss to Columbia on Sept. 23. Her other league goal came in a 2-2 tie with Ivy champion Harvard on Oct. 8.

Sophomore Season - 2010
Chitanvis led the Big Red offense as a sophomore, being named honorable mention All-Ivy League after leading the club in scoring. She scored a team-best five goals while chipping in a pair of assists for 12 points, starting 12 of the 15 games on the season. Chitanvis scored a pair of goals in Ivy League play, scoring the game-winner in a 1-0 win against Yale on Oct. 16 and tallying a goal in the 2-1 loss to Princeton two weeks later. She had a goal and an assist on Sept. 22 against Binghamton and added single tallies against Bucknell and Colgate.

Freshman Season - 2009
Chitanvis was a key figure for the Big Red offense as a freshman, scoring a pair of goals to rank tied for second on the team in scoring. She scored her first career goal with a strike in the Big Red's 2-0 victory over Colgate on Sept. 16, then followed that up with another goal in a 4-2 loss to Bucknell on Sept. 27. Chitanvis appeared in all 15 games, breaking into the starting lineup in the fourth match of the season against Manhattan and starting every game afterward.

Before Cornell
Chitanvis was the New Mexico Class 4A Player of the Year at Los Alamos HS, leading the state with 29 goals and finishing second with 20 assists for 78 points during the regular season. She helped to lead Los Alamos to the state finals, scoring three goals and assisting on four others during the state tournament. Chitanvis added Class 4A District 2 Player of the Year and first-team All-State honors to her resume in 2008 and was named team captain. She also helped Los Alamos to the state semifinals in 2005 and 2007 and another runner-up finish in 2006. In all, she earned a pair of all-state honors and three all-district first-team nods. For her career, she finished with 54 goals and 45 assists while serving as a four-year starter. Playing for her club team, Rio Vista FC, she claimed a state championship in 2007 and a runner-up finish in 2005, 2006 and 2008, and has been a member of the New Mexico ODP State team since 2005 while also being selected to the Region IV ODP camp for four seasons.

Maneesha Elizabeth Chitanvis is the daughter of Shirish Chitanvis and Jacqueline Paris-Chitanvis and has an older sister. She is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
