Biography

Junior Season - 2011
Hompe was one of nine Big Red players to appear in all 16 games, though she started a career-high four games. Used primarily at forward, Hompe was tied for second on the team with two goals on the season and finished second outright in scoring with five points. Her first goal proved to be the only offense in a 1-0 win over Binghamton on Sept. 14, coming in the opening two minutes of the second half. Hompe's lone assist on the year came in a 2-2 tie on Oct. 8 against league champion Harvard, when she set up a goal by Abigail Apistolas. The next game, on Oct. 15 at Yale, Hompe scored the Big Red's lone goal in a 2-1 overtime loss. Her 15 shots was tied for fourth on the team.

Sophomore Season - 2010
Hompe was one of the key playmakers for the Big Red in the midfield as a sophomore, tying for the team lead with four assists on the season. She picked up a goal and an assist in the win over Delaware State on Sept. 5, then picked up another assist in the win over Bucknell on Sept. 19. Hompe then tallied another assist in the win against Manhattan a week later, and closed out her season scoring with an assist in the win against Colgate on Oct. 3. She appeared in all 15 games, earning the start three times.

Freshman Season - 2009
Hompe proved to be a capable offensive threat for the Big Red in her first season at Cornell, becoming one of the team's top options off the bench. She appeared in 14 of the 15 matches, finding herself in the starting lineup twice, and picked up a pair of assists on the year. She scored her first career point with a helper in the Big Red's 4-1 loss to Lehigh on Sept. 11, then added an assist in the Big Red's 2-1 loss to Yale on Oct. 17.

Before Cornell
Hompe spent a year at Greenwich Academy, helping that squad to a berth in the New England quarterfinals and earned all-conference and all-state honors. She helped Greenwich Academy to an 18-5 record and the team most valuable player award by scoring 21 goals and tallying 19 assists. Prior to attending Greenwich Academy, she spent three years at New Canaan High School, winning a state title in 2004 before making appearances in the state quarterfinals in 2005 and 2006. She also helped New Canaan to a conference runner-up finish in 2004 and a conference semi-final berth in 2006. Hompe also played club soccer with the South Central Connecticut Premier, winning a state championship and advancing to the Region I semifinals in 2005. Her club team was also the state runner-up in 2006 and 2007 and a semi-finalist in 2008. She was also a member of the Connecticut ODP program from 2003-07 and was selected to the Region I ODP pool. Hompe also played ice hockey, winning a pair of state championships for New Canaan and was 63-1 in hockey games played over three seasons, scoring 102 goals and 79 assists. She also holds the Connecticut state single-season scoring record, among both boys and girls teams,w ith 96 points in 2006-07. Hompe also played tennis, compiling a 69-4 record in high school at New Canaan.

Personal
Alexandra Elia Hompe is the daughter of John Hompe and Amanda Hompe and has a younger brother and two younger sisters. She is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
