Biography
At Cornell
Neczypor earned USAG All-America honors on bars and beam in 2011, becoming just the eighth Cornell gymnast to earn accolades in multiple events in a single season. A starter on both events throughout the season, she recorded a career-high 9.850 on bars at Brown for the fifth-highest score in school history. Her 9.725 score on beam was a career-best. Neczypor claimed the Ivy Classic bars title in 2010 and was also a regular starter on beam. Her season-best score of 9.825 on bars ranks sixth all-time at Cornell. She reached 9.8 or better in two different meets. Neczypor was a consistent scorer for the Big Red on vault and bars in 2009, but also saw action on floor and beam during the year. She had her best efforts on bars, posting a 9.600 or better in six meets. Her season's best was a 9.650 on beam against Rutgers and a 9.600 on floor at Towson’s Calloway Invitational. Neczypor is a member of the 400 Club which recognizes student-athletes with a 4.0 and she is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
In Secondary School
A graduate of North Royalton HS, Neczypor was a level 10 regional competitor, who also has national level experience. She was the co-captain of her high school gymnastics team and was named MVP in 2005, 2006 and 2007. She placed fourth in the state OHSAA competition in 2007 and 2008. Neczypor was a member of the National Honor society, was named Student of the Month, was involved in Pride in Academics in ’05 and ’06. She graduated Magna Cum Laude and was a member of her high school’s marching band.
Personal
Bethany Nicole Neczypor is the daughter of Bill and Jeanne Neczypor and has a younger sister and brother.
