At Cornell
2009-10: Kelly went an impressive 11-5 while wrestling at both 133 and 141 pounds during his freshman season. He won his final four matches of the year and finished tied for seventh on the team with his four pins in just 16 bouts. After dropping his first career match, he rebounded by winning three straight, including two by fall, at the Binghamton Open. Kelly also wrestled at the Body bar Invitational, where he won three matches, then won three straight in the New York State championships and was rewarded with a dual match appearance against Brown, winning his match by medical forfeit.

Prior to Cornell
Kelly was the Pennsylvania state runner up in 2006 as a freshman and followed by placing at the state tournament each of the next three seasons. He was the 2008 Ironman runner up and placed third at 130 pounds in 2009. Kelly was a member of the National Honor Society.

Personal
Cody Robert Kelly is the son of Ed and Julie Kelly and has one brother and three sisters. He is a student in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
