Fernandes did not participate in any track meets her senior season.

As a Freshman (2010-11)
Fernandes had a very impressive freshman track season, which unfortunately was cut short by a concussion suffered during a hard fall at the indoor Eastern Championships. A key leg on the indoor school record-setting 4x800, Fernandes earned All-East honors in her debut season and qualified for the ECAC Championships.

Before Cornell
Fernandes served as the captain of her track and field and cross country teams in her final year before coming to Cornell. She was one of Canada's top 800m runners, having run 2:12.06 before entering Cornell.

Personal
Leanne Nicole Fernandes is the daughter of Walter and Shanti Fernandes and has two older brothers. She is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
