At Cornell
Leigh Archer was named to the CRCA/Pocock All-American second team after being named to the Mid-Atlantic Region first-team, as well as the CRCA National Scholar Athlete list following a 2012-13 season in which she served as co-captain for the Big Red. She led Cornell to its second consecutive trip to the 2013 NCAA Women’s Rowing Championship, where the varsity eight placed 15th overall. Following graduation, Archer represented the United States at the U23 World Rowing Championships, held in Linz, Austria, after winning the women's double sculls at the trials. She and her partner went on to row in the B Finals and crossed the line first in a time of 7:18.70 to finish seventh in the world. As a junior, she was named Mid-Atlantic Region first-team and second-team All-Ivy following a season in which she was one of just two underclassmen rowing in the varsity eight. Archer helped the Big Red to one of its best seasons in more than 20 years with a second place finish in the varsity eight race at the 2011-12 Ivy League championship. Cornell went on to participate in the 2012 NCAA Championship, where the crew finished fifth in the Petite Final, good for 11th in the nation. Archer was named to the 2011 All Mid-Atlantic Region second team after rowing in the varsity eight during her sophomore season. She helped the boat to wins against Yale, Harvard and Dartmouth as the crew was consistently ranked in the top 20, reaching as high as No. 10. Archer was invited to and participated in the USRowing Pre-Elite Camp during the summer of 2011 where she won gold in the women’s senior pair at the USRowing Club National Championships. Archer rowed on the second varsity eight during her rookie season. Following the season, she was selected to participate in the U.S. National Team Freshman Camp.


At St. George’s School
Archer was a three-sport athlete at St. George’s School, lettering four times in lacrosse and three times in both cross country and ice hockey. She earned All-ISL honorable mention in lacrosse after leading her team with 61 points as a junior in 2008. Archer was the captain of the cross country team and was awarded her team’s Coach’s Cup award. She was also named the most improved player of the hockey team as a junior
