Biography
• IRA All-Academic Team (2013)
At Cornell
Papakyrikos rowed in the second varsity eight during his junior season and was a top five finisher for the Friedman Strength and Conditioning Center Wall of Honor. He helped the crew to a fourth place finish at the 2012 EARC Sprints and a second place finish in the Petite Finals at the 2012 IRA Championship. During the regular season, Papakyrikos helped the second varsity eight to victories over Georgetown, UCSD, Syracuse, Navy, Princeton, Yale and Penn. Papakyrikos was a member of the freshmen eight crew that won the bronze medal at the 2010 Eastern Sprints before finishing in fourth place at the IRAs.
At Groton School
Papakyrikos was a three-year letter winner at the Groton School. As a sophomore, he helped his crew to a gold medal in the boys’ fourth fours at the NEIRAs. He also lettered three times in basketball, serving as team captain, and played soccer all four years.
Personal
Cole Nicholas Papakyrikos is the son of Nick Papakyrikos and Judith Normandin and he has one sister. He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
