Biography
At Cornell
Rectenwald returned to the varsity eight boat for the second season in his junior campaign. He helped the crew to a third place finish in the Petite Finals at the 2012 IRA Championship and a fourth place finish in the Petite Finals of the 2012 EARC Sprints. During the regular season, the varsity eight earned victories over Georgetown, UCSD, Syracuse, Princeton, Yale and Penn. Rectenwald rowed with the varsity eight during his sophomore season as well. He was a member of the freshmen-8 crew that won the bronze medal at the 2010 Eastern Sprints before finishing in fourth place at the IRAs.
At North Allegheny HS
Rectenwald rowed for four years at North Allegheny high school.

James Patrick Rectenwald is the son of Richard and Nancy Rectenwald. He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
