Biography
At Cornell
As a junior, Foy rowed in the varsity eight that took sixth at the 2013 EARC Sprints, before finishing in fifth-place at the 2013 IRA Regatta. He rowed as a member of the second varsity eight during his sophomore season, helping the crew to win a silver medal at the 2012 EARC Sprints. During the regular season, the second varsity eight earned victories over Harvard, Penn, Princeton, Columbia and Dartmouth. Foy spent his rookie season in the first freshmen boat that took third place at the 2011 Eastern Sprints.
At Garfield High School
Foy was a four-year letter winner at Garfield high school, where he won a regional champion with the varsity eight in 2009. At USRowing nationals, his crew placed seventh in 2007, ninth in 2008 and tenth in 2009. Foy was also a member of Green Lake Crew.
Personal
David John Foy is the son of Hugh and Jayn Foy and he has a younger brother. David was the valedictorian of his high school and is enrolled in the College of Engineering.
