At Cornell
Walters rowed as a member of the second varsity eight during his sophomore season, helping the crew to win a silver medal at the 2012 EARC Sprints. During the regular season, the second varsity eight earned victories over Harvard, Penn, Princeton, Columbia and Dartmouth. Walters spent his rookie season in the first freshmen boat that took third place at the 2011 Eastern Sprints.

At Phillips Academy Andover
Walters was a three-time letter winner, rowing starboard for Phillips Academy. He served as team captain in 2010. In both 2008 and 2009, he rowed in the second varsity eight and earned first place at the New England Interscholastic Rowing Association championship, before taking third place with the varsity eight in 2010. Walters was also a member of Lincoln Park Juniors in 2007 and was a member of the Boston Rowing Club in 2009.

Personal
Charles Lawrence Walters is the son of Jeffrey and Ann Walters and he has one older brother and one older sister. He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
