As a Senior (2013-14)Daniels was again one of the Big Red’s key performers in the sprint hurdles during her final season. She took home 1
st place with a time of 8.85 in the 60 hurdles at the Cornell Southern Tier Collegiate Open. She continued to shave her times as the season progressed, marking an 8.80 in a 2
nd place finish at the Cornell Upstate Challenge. She took home another 1
st place finish at the Bomber Invitational. Her indoor season culminated at the Indoor Heps, where she posted a career best time of 8.74 in a 5
th place finish. Daniels continued her season of career bests as the season shifted outdoors. She posted a career best 100 hurdle time of 14.22 in a 1
st place finish at the Bison Outdoor Classic. At the Outdoor Heps, she clocked a wind-aided 14.00 to finish 5
th. She concluded her career at the ECAC’s, marking a 12
th place finish.
As a Junior (2012-13)Daniels set new personal bests in multiple events during her junior season, scoring 2971 points in the pentathlon at the Ithaca Bomber Invitational. She also set new marks in the 600, the 60 hurdles and the shot put during the year.
As a Freshman (2010-11)Daniels competed in the long jump and the short sprints during her freshman year.Â
Before CornellDaniels was a two-time all state-honoree in the long jump and earned all-state honors as part of her high school's 4x100m relay and 4x200m relay. She earned league, district, and state honors all four years. Daniels was also a state qualifier in the sprints and hurdles. A two-time team most valuable performer, she also served as team captain during her junior and senior years and helped her team to a league championship in 2007.
PersonalShannon Daniels is the daughter of Bob and Clare Daniels and has two younger brothers and a younger sister. She is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
