As a Senior (2013-14)
Olyha was a big presence for the Big Red in the multi-events during her senior year. Indoors, she focused her efforts in the pentathlon. Her overall scores improved over the course of the year. She took home 3^rd place at the Cornell Upstate Challenge. She improved to a 2^nd place finish at the Bomber Invitational. Her best showing came at the opportune moment at the Indoor Heps, where she posted a career best 3297 in a 12^th place finish. Outdoors, she participated in the Heptathlon at the Cortlant Classic Invitational, marking a career best score of 3611 to finish 3^rd.

As a Junior (2012-13)
Olyha set a new personal best during her junior season in the high jump, clearing 5' 1 1/4" in late April at the Big Red Outdoor Invitational. She also ran the 100 hurdles in 2013, coming in at 16.58 for a seasonal and personal best. Her shot put personal best also moved up to 32' 9".

As a Freshman (2010-11)
Olyha started out strong at the first meet of the season in December before becoming injured and missing thte spring season. This year, she expects to improve her performances from high school while excelling in the multi-events.   

Before Cornell
Olyha earned numerous all-league and all-county honors while leading the indoor and outdoor track and field squads at her high school to four straight undefeated league and county championship seasons. She served as captain of both the indoor and outdoor track and field teams and was named Best Utility as she competed in the pentathlon, 1600m relay, 400m, jumps, and hurdles. In addition, Olyha is the school record holder in the pentathlon. She also lettered four times on the swim team and served as captain her senior year.

Personal
Sam Olyha is the daughter of Robert and Stacy Olyha and has an older sister and younger brother.  She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
