As a Senior (2013-14)Parnell continued to be a major contributor in the 60 and long jump in her final season. She had a fantastic showing at the Robert J. Kane Invitational, taking 1
st place in the long jump, while also marking a career best 60 of 7.74 to finish 1
st. She had a strong conclusion to the indoor season in the long jump, posting a 4
th place finish at the Indoor Heps and a 5
th place at the ECAC’s. Outdoors, Parnell continued her strong run in the long jump. She posted her best jump of the season at the UCR Spring Break Invitational, marking a 19’ 1.25” jump to finish 4
th. She took home 5
th place at the Outdoor Heps, before concluding her career with a 15
th place finish at the ECAC’s.
As a Junior (2012-13)Parnell competed for the Big Red at the Indoor Heps, placing sixth in the long jump and scoring one point with a mark of 18' 5 1/4", a seasonal best. She also jumped at the Outdoor Heps, posting a 14th-place finish thanks to a jump of 16' 8 3/4". Parnell also ran the 60-meter dash indoors, posting a seasonal best of 7.86 seconds indoors at the Kane Invite.
As a Sophomore (2011-12)Parnell
started her year well, recording a long jump of 19' at the Indoor Heps to take fourth place. At the Penn Relays, she was 14th in the Eastern long jump competition with a jump of 17' 9 3/4", and she was even better the following weekend at Outdoor Heps. The following week, Parnell was the first leg of Cornell's second-place 4x100 relay, and she leaped 18' 7 1/4" in the long jump for fifth place. She competed in the same events at the Outdoor ECACs, helping the 4x100 team finish sixth. In the long jump, Parnell came in ninth, just missing scoring. Her success throughout the year earned her a spot in the NCAA East Regional, and her jump of 18' 3 3/4" against some of the best competition in the country put her in 42nd place. Her best long jump of the year indoors -- 20' 3/4" -- is the third-best jump in school history.
As a Freshman (2010-11)Parnell joined the team as a short sprinter and long jumper and had a good winter season when she ran a personal best in the 60m and jumped a personal best in the long jump. She received recognition as Female Rookie of the Week during the winter, and she was recognized as having the second-best long jump in the Ivy League behind teammate Melissa Hewitt. She remained in the league’s Top 10 in the 60m dash. Her jumps qualified her for the ECACs. During the outdoor season she continued her excellent jumping and helped her 4x100 team to a third-place finish at the Heptagonals, running lead-off.
Before CornellParnell is a three-time Ivy League Prep Champion in the 100m, 200m, and long jump. She was captain of her team her senior year as well as a four-time MVP recipient. Parnell was a New York state qualifier all four years of high school, and she received awards for being chosen as First Team All-Ivy as well as a Westchester County All-Star in track and field. She set four records for her school in the 100m (12.1), 200m (25.2), long jump (18’11”), and the 4x100.
PersonalAnjelique Parnell is the daughter of Wayne and Jeanine Parnell. She has one younger brother. She is enrolled in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
