At Cornell
As a former Missouri state champion, Ahart’s freshman year was a disappointment. The full-time training and stresses of college made for an overwhelmingly steep learning curve. But Ahart is a determined and dedicated athlete, and as a sophomore, he steadily improved from pre-season to the end of the season for both Indoor and Outdoor. Making his first Heps squad, Ahart ended the Outdoor season on a high note with a fifth-place finish in the 100m at the Heptagonal Championships, running 10.90. In the 200m at the Heps, he ran a PR time, posting a 21.85 and advancing to the final but fell victim to lane 1. He also ran an excellent lead-off leg for the sprint relay and helped the team place second in an exciting 4x100m in 41.12 for the fifth-best time all-time and the fourth fastest non-winning time in Heps history. As a junior, Ahart will be a force to be reckoned with in the League in the 60m, 100m and 200m and will look to fill the shoes of graduated senior and NCAA qualifier Nate Crabtree.
Before Cornell
Ahart was a multiple-time state champion in the sprints in Missouri, serving as team captain for twos easons. He also played basketball, earning all-district honors, and football, where he was named all-state as a running back.
