At Cornell
Hagberg had an excellent initial season for the Big Red. He adjusted well to the increased college hurdle height and recorded a best 60m hurdle time of 8.32, seventh all-time at Cornell. A late indoor season injury kept him out of the Heps, but he rebounded for a solid outdoor campaign. He continued to make the necessary adjustments to college hurdling and finished fifth at the Outdoor Heptagonals. His 110m hurdle effort of 14.76 was an IC4A qualifying mark.
He made his senior year count, as he claimed the 60-meter hurdles championship at the Indoor Heps to start. At the Penn Relays, he took 21st in the110 hurdles in 14.42 seconds. He then won the 110 hurdles at the Outdoor Heptagonal Championships and was sixth in the 110 hurdles preliminaries at the IC4As. Hagberg also earned a spot in the NCAA East Regional in Jacksonville, Fla., but elected not to compete in favor of attending his graduation. His 60-hurdles best of 7.98 seconds is the second-best time in school history. He also has the fifth-best 110 hurdles time at Cornell with 14.21w.
Before Cornell
Hagberg was all-state in track and field and earned all-area honors in football, where he played quarterback. He also played two seasons of basketball.
