Biography
Sophomore Season — 2012
Katz scored her first collegiate goal in the Big Red's season debut against at Georgetown. She then made her first career start two days later at George Washington and established herself as a dependable option off the bench at forward before an injury limited her season to just eight appearances.
Freshman Season — 2011
Katz appeared in 13 of the team's 16 games in her collegiate debut, coming off the bench on each occasion. One of the fastest players on the team, Katz was a weapon on the front line that kept opposing defenses on their toes anytime a ball was playing forward. Katz had nine shots, including six in her first five games. Three of the shots required saves from opposing goalies.
Before Cornell
Katz was twice named to the
Connecticut Post's Top 11 Players to Watch list, and was selected to play in the Connecticut Senior Bowl. She was a MSG Varsity Top Connecticut Player to Watch and was a three-time all-area selection, including the all-area most valuable player as a senior. A three-time all-league player, she was a four-year varsity starter and finished her career with 47 goals, leading her team in scoring twice. She also played three seasons of basketball, earning a pair of letters.
Personal
Jaclyn Michelle Katz is the daughter of Neil and Amy Katz and has a younger brother. Her father is a 1985 Cornell graduate, playing two years of JV basketball for the Big Red. She is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
