Senior Season — 2013-14
Koehler posted a scoring average of 83.75 over three tournaments. His best round of the season was a second-round 76 at the season-opening Cornell Invitational. He went on to finish tied for 56th in the individual portion of the competition, tying for the Cornell 'B' team lead with Jonathan Kligman. Koehler was then one of the Big Red's five entries the following week at The MacDoanld Cup, and he competed individually at The Met Intercollegiate.

Junior Season — 2012-13
Koehler served as a tri-captain and competed in all 16 of the Big Red's tournament rounds, plus three extremely close rounds at the Ivy League Match Play event. He finished with the team's fifth-best scoring average (79.75), with his best round coming on Day 2 of the Cornell Invitational when he carded a 3-over-par 75. Combined with a first-round 78, he finished in a tie for 18th individually and helped the Big Red finish third as a team. He later tied with classmate Craig Esposito for the team's best score at the Century Intercollegiate in April, finishing tied for 14th with a two-day score of 12-over-par 154.

Sophomore Season — 2011-12
Koehler took part in the majority of the Big Red's tournaments in his second year on East Hill. He started the year in the team's first two tournaments, and his best round of the season came in April's Princeton Invitational when he shot a one-under-par 70. Koehler had the fifth-lowest average on the roster and also had the fifth-best to-par average (+8.31).

Freshman Season — 2010-11
Koehler was in the starting lineup in three tournaments during the 2010-11, including registering his first career top 20 finish at the Big Red Invitational. He shot a career-low 72 in the second of three scoring rounds at the team's home meet.

Before Cornell
Koehler was a two-year state qualifier at Charles O. Dickerson HS. He was named the 2009 Central New York Junior Tour champion and Player of the Year. Koehler was a four-year starter in golf and served as captain as a junior and senior. He also lettered two seasons in basketball and served as team captain his senior year.

Personal
Maxwell Lee Koehler is the son of David and Deborah Koehler and has two older brothers. He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
