As a senior (2014)
Edwards hit .244 with 11 doubles, five home runs and 23 RBI while starting 40 of her 41 contests. One of the school's career leaders in doubles and home runs, she also scored 14 runs and posted a .455 slugging percentage. She had seven multi-hit games, including three-hit games against both George Mason and Siena. Edwards went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run and two RBI against GMU and then hit a home run the following day against Monmouth. She was 3-for-3 with a double and a homer against Siena as part of a doubleheader where she went 5-for-7 and hit a walk-off home run in the seventh inning to help Cornell past America East champion Albany.
As a junior (2013)
Edwards batted .281 and tied for the team lead in home runs (seven) while posting 11 doubles, 20 RBI and 26 runs scored in 48 starts for Cornell. Edwards posted a .358 on-base percentage and a .490 slugging percentage while fielding at a .940 clip at second base. Edwards finished the season tied for sixth in the Ivy League in home runs and was also seventh in doubles and walks and ninth in total bases. She had 11 multi-hit games, including a 3-for-3 effort with a pair of home runs and three RBI. Edwards also had a two-home run game against Syracuse, including hitting the tying homer in sixth inning and the game-winner in the eighth. Edwards had three RBI games against Bethune-Cookman and Yale.
As a sophomore (2012)
A second-team All-Ivy League selection, Edwards hit .279 with a team and Ivy League-leading nine home runs. She also paced the team in runs scored (26), RBI (27) and walks (17). She also ranked among the top 10 in the Ivy League in slugging percentage, total bases, RBI, runs scored and walks. Edwards posted 11 multi-hit games, including a 3-for-4 day with a home run in a win at Penn. She slammed a three-run homer at George Mason and a grand slam at Virginia Tech. Over the team's final 17 contests, Edwards hit .327 with nine extra base hits and a .636 slugging percentage and a .415 on-base percentage. She was also strong in the field, posting a solid .956 fielding percentage at second base.
As a freshman (2011)
Edwards had a strong rookie campaign, batting .247 with seven doubles, five home runs, 27 runs scored and a team-best 29 RBI. She also walked 20 times and had a team-best eight sacrifice hits. She also posted a solid .960 fielding percentage at second base. Edwards had nine mult-hit efforts, including a 3-for-5 effort with two RBI and two runs scored at Mount St. Mary's. She was 2-for-3 with two home runs, four RBI and three runs scored in a win over Penn, including a walk-off homer. She also hit a three-run walk-off shot as part of a 2-for-5 day against Ithaca College.Edwards' walk-off infield single in the bottom of the seventh inning lifted the Big Red past Penn to give the team its third straight Ivy South Division title. She earned Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors once during the season and finished the season ranked among the Ivy leaders in walks (third), RBI (sixth) and runs scored (eighth).
At Loyola Academy
A second-team all-state selection by the Illinois Coaches Association as a senior at Loyola Academy, Edwards was part of three regional championship teams and a state title-winning team as a junior. A 2010 Chicago Sun Times top 100 player, she was an all-area honorable mention pick as a senior. A three-time all-conference selection, Edwards helped Loyola to a section and super sectional crown in 2009 and conference championships in 2008 and 2009.
Personal
Jennifer Rose Edwards is the daughter of Brian and Susan Edwards and has a brother and two sisters. Her sister, Kathleen, played softball at Yale, while her twin sister, Meghan, plays softball at Denison. Her father played football and baseball at Carroll University. She is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
