Biography

As a senior (2014)
Roth was a key cog out of the bullpen for the Big Red picthing staff in 2014, going 2-6 with a 5.32 ERA in 52.2 innings of work. She struck out 28 while starting eight of 19 contests, including a pair of complete games. Roth was outstanding in complete game wins over George Mason and Delaware, combining to allow just 13 hits and three earned runs in 14 total innings of work. She struck out four and scattered three hits in relief against America East champion Albany and pitched one winning out of the bullpen at Brown to earn a victory.

As a junior (2013)
Roth posted a 3-5 record with a 5.76 ERA in 24 appearances, including three starts. She struck out 41 batters in 62.0 innings of work and hurled a pair of complete games. Roth picked up wins against Bethune-Cookman, Manhattan and Harvard. She struck out seven in just three innings of work out of the bullpen in the victory over Manhattan.

As a sophomore (2012)
Roth went 3-0 with a 4.71 ERA in nine contests out of the bullpen in 2012, pitching a total of 16.1 innings. She saw significant time in the final month of the season, allowing one earned run or less in her final five appearances of the season/ She was outstanding in relief at Yale, limiting the Bulldogs to one run in 3.2 innings to pick up her first career win. She also earned victories off the bench against Columbia and Princeton.

As a freshman (2011)
Roth saw action in four games out of the bullpen as a freshman, going 0-0 with a 15.00 ERA in 4.2 innings. She retired the only two hitters she faced with a strikeout in her first collegiate outing against George Washington. Roth also surrendered jusut one hit and no earned runs in 1.1 innings at Longwood.

At Glenbrook North HS
Roth was an all-league and all-area selection as a pitcher at Glenbrook North HS. She posted a 1.18 ERA and struck out 244 in just 160.1 innings in the circle. The 2010 team most valuable player and team captain, she led her team to a regional title and an undefeated confernce season. A recipient of the All-School Athletic Leadership Award in 2010, Roth was a three-year starter on the mound and also played first and third base.

Personal
Samantha Evans Roth is the daughter of Jeffrey Roth and Robyn Alexander and has an older brother. She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
