At Cornell
Botte served as the team’s co-captain during her senior season. She was awarded the team's Sportsmanship, Leadership and Determination award, as chosen by the coaching staff, following her senior season. Botte was a first-team All-Ivy selection in 2010 and is Cornell's all-time leader in career victories (19), sharing the mark with Yanaka Bernal and Kaitlin Tierney. She also ranks eighth overall for shutouts in a career (4) and sits in 11th place for career saves (207). A co-captain of the 2011 team, Botte was selected to play in NFHCA Division I Senior Game and is just the second player in Cornell history to be named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad all four years.

Junior (2010): Botte was named first-team All-Ivy following her first season as a full-time starter for the Big Red. She was a workhorse in goal, playing all but 9:00 during the season and finishing with an 11-5 record. She concluded the year with two shutouts, including one in Ivy play, and posted 1.77 goals-against average to go along with a .726 save percentage. Botte’s GAA dropped to 1.50 in Ivy play, ranking third best in the league, but tops amongst goalies that saw more than 400:00 minutes of action. Following the season, she was named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad, as well as Academic All-Ivy.

Sophomore (2009): Botte saw her playing time increase tremendously on the field during her sophomore season, seeing action in eight games and making five starts. She played a total of 385 minutes, made 35 saves and allowed 16 goals for a 3.74 GAA and a .686 save percentage. She posted a shutout in Cornell’s 1-0 victory over Ivy League foe Dartmouth on Nov. 7. Following the season, she was named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad.

Freshman (2008): Botte completed her first season with Cornell as the team’s back-up goalie. She saw 117 minutes of action, including a complete game performance against Fairfield. She made nine saves and allowed just one goal for a 0.76 goals-against average and a .900 save percentage. Following the season, she was named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad and earned the team’s Class Of ’91 Cup as the player with the most promising future.
 
At Cathedral Catholic HS
Botte was a three-year letter winner at Cathedral Catholic HS where she started in goal for three seasons. A two-time first-team All-Division II and first-team All-Western League honoree, she was named the Union Tribune Field Hockey Player to Watch as a senior. Botte was also a 2007 first-team all-San Diego CIF Section selection, following-up an appearance on the second-team in 2006. She was named her team’s best defensive player as a junior and earned co-MVP honors as a senior after leading her team to a Western League championship. Botte was a two-time field hockey All-Academic Scholar Athlete. She also lettered three times in basketball and lacrosse, earning MVP honors as a junior from her lacrosse team and being named a 2008 Union Tribune Lacrosse Player to Watch.

Personal
Alexandra Marie Botte is the daughter of Anthony and Angela Botte and has one younger sister. She is enrolled in the College of Arts and Science.
