At Cornell
Freidman was coxswain of the Varsity 8 during her junior year. She helped the boat to wins against Yale, Harvard and Dartmouth as the crew was consistently ranked in the top 20, reaching as high as No. 10. Following the season, she was named to the All Mid-Atlantic Region second team and was selected a CRCA National Scholar-Athlete. As a sophomore, Friedman was the coxswain of the second varsity-8. Following the season, she was named a CRCA National Scholar-Athlete.
