As a Senior (2011-12)
Hewitt concluded her stellar Big Red career with another terrific season in 2011-12. She won another Ivy League title at the Indoor Heps, this one coming in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.57 seconds. She just missed doubling up on Indoor Heps titles, placing second in the 200-meter dash. She scored points in a third event, taking sixth in the long jump with a leap of 18' 4 1/4". And in the triple jump, Hewitt took 16th with a jump of 34' 1/4". Hewitt then placed eighth at the Outdoor Heps in the 100. Indoors in the long jump, she reached a best of 20' 3 3/4", a number that puts her second in school history.

As a Junior (2010-11)
Hewitt debuted in the triple jump at the indoor Heps, where she placed third, jumping an impressive 40’2”. At the same championship, she also placed first in the 60m, second in long jump, and fourth in the 200m, earning 28 points for the Big Red.
As a Sophomore (2009-10)
Hewitt was a five-time Heps champion, winning the 60m and
the Long Jump indoors, and the Long Jump, 4x100m, and 100m outdoors. Her time in the 100m, 11.66s, was enough to break the league record.
As a Freshman (2008-09)
A five-times Heps scorer as a freshman, Hewitt placed in the 60m and 200m indoor
and the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m outdoor. She grabbed headlines in her first away meet by setting the meet, school, and Ivy League record in the 60m, running 7.46 at the Sykes-Sabock Challenge at Penn State. That
time now stands as the second-fastest in League history, being broken a few weeks later by a teammate. Outdoors, Hewitt won the 100m and placed third in the 200m with a person best of 24.46. Her efforts on the 4x100m relay helped the Big Red to a spot in the East Regional meet. She also qualified for the East Region meet in the 100m.
Before Cornell
Hewitt was the Ontario high school champion at 60m, running a best of 7.63. Outdoors, she recorded a best finish at the OFSSA meet of 11.94 for 100m, good for third place. She also finished third at the Jamaican National Youth Championships at 100m.
Personal
Melissa Marshalee Hewitt is the daughter of Majorie Hibbert and has a younger sister. She is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
