As a Junior (2013-14)
DeFord did not compete in any meets in her junior season.

As a Sophomore (2012-13)
DeFord continued to improve in her second year with the  Big Red, setting new personal marks in the hammer throw outdoors and the weight throw indoors. She threw 135' 11" in the hammer throw at the Oxford/Cambridge meet in early April, and her new best in the weight throw of 47' 8" was set at the Ithaca Bomber Invitational in February.

As a Freshman (2011-12)
DeFord had a successful first year in Ithaca, placing sixth in her first Indoor Heps with a throw of 42' 8 1/4. At the Penn Relays, she threw the shot even better, reaching 42' 9 1/2" and taking 20th in the Eastern shot put event. Outdoors, DeFord reached 41' 1 1/2" at the Heps for ninth place, and she has three full years ahead of her to improve.

Before Cornell
DeFord began her high school career by showing she was a force to be reckoned with. Her freshman year, she took third at the Idaho State Championships in the shot put. Two years later, as a junior, she improved her marks and took second in both the shot put and the discus. As a senior, DeFord won the state title in both the shot put and discus for the state of Idaho. DeFord was a co-captain for her track and field team as both a junior and senior and was also a co-captain for her basketball team as a senior. This team brought home an Idaho State Championship trophy for Grangeville.

Personal
Megan Ann DeFord is the daughter of Carl and Lori DeFord and has a younger brother and a younger sister, Justin and Molly. She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
