As a Senior (2014-15)Woodford ran the second-best time of her career in the 400m hurdles at the ECAC Championship and advanced to the finals. At Outdoor Heptagonals, her time in the event was good for sixth all-time at Cornell. Indoors, she moved to third on the program charts in the 500 at Indoor Heptagonals.
As a Junior (2013-14)Woodford showed her breadth for the Big Red during her junior year, competing in multiple events over the course of the season. She ran the 400 for the Big Red at the Indoor Heps, finishing in tenth place at a time of 58.02. At the Indoor ECAC Championships, Woodford stepped up to lead the 4x400 relay team to first place in the preliminaries for the event. Moving into the outdoor season, Woodford transitioned to the 400 hurdles, where she took sixth place and contributed a point to Cornell’s overall third-place finish. She continued on to the Outdoor ECACs in the event, finishing 21
st overall at an improved time of 1:02.50.
As a Sophomore (2012-13)Woodford ran for the Big Red at the Indoor Heps in the 400 and 200, taking 16th place and 20th place, respectively. She was part of Big Red relay teams throughout the year including 4x400 at the Indoor ECAC Championships where Cornell took sixth place and scored three points. She also ran in the 500 at the ECAC Indoors, placing 19th. Outdoors, she ran in the DMR College section at the Penn Relays, helping the Big Red place 11th. At the Outdoor Heps, she was on Cornell's second-place 4x100 team and its second-place 4x400 team. She competed in a third event at the Outdoor Heps, placing eighth in the 400 hurdles. She finished her year by helping the Big Red advanced to the finals of the 4x400 relay at the Outdoor ECACs.
As a Freshman (2011-12)Woodford took part in the distance medley relay at the Indoor ECACs, running the second leg and helping the Big Red finish third in that event. She then ran the anchor leg of the 4x200 at the Penn Relays as part of a team whose time became the second-best in school history. Woodford then took seventh in the 200-meter dash at the Outdoor Heps, just missing scoring for Cornell by .06 seconds. She then took her sister's place at the NCAA East Regional in Jacksonville, Fla., and was part of a 4x400 team that finished 21st.
Before CornellThe area’s top 200-meter runner, Woodford was the New York state runner-up recording a best of 24.9 seconds. She also excelled in the triple jump and was a member of several state scoring relay teams.
PersonalEmily Christine Woodford is the daughter of R.C and Theresa Woodford and has two siblings. Her twin sister, Katie, is a member of the Cornell track team and she also has a younger brother.
