Biography
Junior Season — 2011-12
Butler had a team-high 17 victories next to just three losses on the season to post the best winning percentage (.850) on the team among those who competed in all 20 matches. He appeared primarily at the Nos. 6 and 7 spots in the order, rattling off 11 consecutive victories from Jan. 14 to Feb. 12. He was also a perfect 3-0 in five-set matches. Butler earned a spot in the Molloy Division of the College Squash Association's Individual Championships to end the season.
At Cornell:
Butler played in the middle to the bottom of the order as a freshman and sophomore, finishing last year with a 10-6 record. Butler is looking to move into the middle of the order in his third season.
At Lawrence Park:
A graduate of Lawrence Park Collegiate Institute, Owen Butler played squash for three years and served as his team's captain.
Personal:
Owen C. Butler is the son of Gordon Butler and Deborah Penny, and he has one younger brother and one younger sister. Butler is enrolled in Cornell's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
