Biography
Senior Season — 2013-14Pacheco was 9-6 this season from showcase courts, competing all but two of her matches at the No. 2 position. Her nine victories were tied for the team high with Danielle Letourneau '15, Reut Odinak '16 and Olivia Wherry '16. She started off the season with four straight victories, then had a string of close matches to close out the campaign. Pacecho split her final six matches, with five of them going to four or five games. She rallied to defeat Xin Tan, 7-11, 11-6, 8-11, 11-4, 11-4, to account for the Big Red's lone point in the Howe Cup quarterfinal against Penn. She then came back from one game down the next day against Stanford's Zandra Ho, helping the Big Red retain its No. 6 ranking. Pacheco finished the season ranked 17th in the country and earned her second CSA All-America Second Team honor and second All-Ivy League honor.
Junior Season — 2012-13Pacheco earned her first All-Ivy League Team honor, finishing the season ranked 14th in the country by the CSA. She improved to a 12-4 record in her third season on East Hill, settling in as the team's No. 2 entry behind All-American Danielle Letourneau. She started the season by making her only appearance at the No. 1 spot, rolling to a three-game victory over Hamilton's Amanda Thorman to kick off a nine-match winning streak. She won both of her matches against entries from Stanford in 5-4 victories that allowed the Big Red to maintain its No. 6 national ranking for a second consecutive season. Pacheco once again qualified for the top-flight Ramsay Division of the CSA Individual Championships, where she won an opening-round match against Trinity's Ashley Tidman.
Sophomore Season — 2011-12Pacheco posted an 11-7 record, finishing the season with a national ranking of No. 26. She most frequently competed at the No. 3 spot, but all moved up a spot for three matches. She started the season particularly strong, winning her first five matches and 10 of her first 12. Among her season highlights was a two-match sweep of Stanford's Kyla Sherwood — the latter occasion as part of Cornell's dramatic 5-4 win over the Cardinal on Feb. 25 in the consolation semifinals of the Howe Cup. Pacheco then qualified for the Ramsay Division of the College Squash Association's Individual Championships.
Before CornellPacheco finished her high school career ranked #11 in the USSRA GU19 division. She is also a member of the urban squash program in the Bronx called City Squash. She is the current title holder of the GU19 Urban Individual Nationals tournament. She played for four years at St. George's, winning the ISL Team Championship three out of four seasons. Pacheco led the team as co-captain during her junior and senior seasons and was the New England Division A Flight 2 champion during her junior year. She was also a member of the soccer team and a co-captain of the softball team.
PersonalJessenia Pacheco is the daughter of Yolanda Montalvo and has two older sisters. She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
